Old House, New Projects

Two weeks ago we had a lot of projects that we needed to get done before we went to Utah for Brads cousin's weddings. We took the rest of the popcorn ceiling out of our kitchen. Then we moved some things out of the house, mainly our chest of drawers.
Then my brother-in-law came over and textured our ceilings. Which was nice of him. We paid him of course. While he was getting everything ready to do his project, I had my own project I was working on. I organized the master bedroom closet. I was able to get everything off of the floor and on the shelves where they went. I was also able to then fit everything that was in the master bedroom into the closet. Then I worked on all of the other closets in the house. I needed to get everything off of the carpet so that it could get ripped out and replaced with new carpet. We have a strange closet. Instead of all hanger space there is a lot of shelf space. Then there are two three foot sections where there are two rods to hang clothes on. I cannot fit my dresses on either one of them. So I use the one foot rod to hang my clothes. When I was finished moving and organizing I didn't have anything to do really. So I decided to clean out the fridge. I took the things off the shelves and out of the drawers. Shifting between the fridge and the sink full of hot water and soap, I washed off all those sticky spots on the shelves. When I was washing that long bottom shelf I couldn't get the muck out from in between the glass and the plastic, so I went and got a screwdriver to unscrew the glass so I could get the muck. When I went to flip it over to unscrew the other side the glass slipped right out of the plastic holder and shattered ALL over the kitchen floor!!! I was SO sad. I only had one little scratch on my big toe, that I didn't notice until after the blood dried. I sat in my seat and tucked my feet under my butt. I grabbed the broom and started to sweep. I still don't think I got it all. I am sure a lot of the glass is under the fridge. We now have more room in our fridge :) do to no bottom shelf hahaha.
Then Brads family came over and helped me move all the heavy stuff out of the house and into the back yard. That was interesting. A lot of the stuff got shoved into the closet that I just had organized.
The next day was carpet day!! We had moved the bed into the kitchen along with all the office stuff, so that we could sleep and not have to worry about moving the bed in the morning. Then we painted the ceiling in the family room... only the family room. Brad wants to paint the rest of the house as we find paint. But I'm afraid that it all won't match and that we will spill on the BRAND NEW CARPET!! Let's hope that that isn't going to be the case.
So my mom came over and we watched movies on my bed while the workers put the beautiful new carpet in. Which was really nice not to do anything while they worked. I got them water and candy though. After a while I was asked to go and get Jeani and Kayli. We got home and the house was filled with fumes. It smelled terrible. I was worried that it was getting to the baby, so we went home and got a Binky, so she can sleep and so that we could grab a fan. Then we went to my house to watch more movies. Then the guys left. I vacuumed the carpet a second time and mopped the tile. Then I just waited for the families to come. Both Brads family and mine showed up around seven to help put all the things back where they were. Things are still not right in my house.... Oh well, I can fix that. Now I have something to do :)
Then the next day my brother-in-law came over and re shingled our roof. Now that looks really nice. He did it on Wednesday when it was 113 degrees outside and we had the heat advisory. Which I thought he was crazy for doing!!
Then I needed to pack for our week "vacation" in Utah.
It is really good to get things done and looking nice in my house :) Now I just need to get more paint and paint and hang up pictures in my house. Well I guess I need to get some pictures first too :)

Job Hunt

On Monday I borrowed my mother-in-laws car and ran around. First I made my way down to Queen Creek to find the ALA (American Leadership Academy) office so that I could turn in my resume and application as a teachers assistant. Well since I didn't print out the map and didn't have a GPS of course I got lost. So I turned into a Walgreens to ask for directions and after over an hour of trying to find this office I finally found it!! Then I turned it in and then left.

Then on the way to continue dropping off my resume my mom-in-law called me to tell me about all the schools that were hiring. So I went and dropped off my resumes at Hale Elementary, Field Elementary, Franklin West, Stapley Jr High and a few other that I can't remember their name hahaha. Then I went and dropped off applications for Pete's Fish and Chips, Seagull Books and two different Denny's.

I emailed multiple relaters to see if they needed a photographer for their properties and I have only received a few emails in response. Which is exciting and I hope that it all works out for me.

I am looking for a job if you couldn't tell :) and I am hoping that it will all work out for me.

Wish me luck :)

Enjoy the Trip

I didn't get around to writing much this week. But Thursday I went to a sealing in the Mesa Temple for one of my friends. She was beautiful. My husband, unfortunately, was working so couldn't attend the session with me. But as we were outside waiting for the bride and groom to come out the brides mother came out and told us that she wanted all the brides friends and family on the south side of the steps and the grooms friends and family on the north side of the steps all leaning into the middle, over the railings to give high fives as they came out the temple and walked down the steps. So we did.... cuz that's what they wanted. So when the bride and groom came out instead of giving a kiss to each other, they began running down the steps.... well the brides dress wasn't short.... and she didn't hold it up. So she fell!! LUCKILY her dress was poofy and she didn't get hurt. She stood up, kissed her groom and went on with the photos. Don't worry.... we got it on tape, the best part is that we got it from the side AND the front. Anyways, we went to the reception and it was very cute, great food and wonderful music. His band was there and they played for us.... and for her, he sang to her a couple of the songs that he wrote for her. It was rather cute!!

Monday

This past Monday we removed our popcorn ceiling. I was watching a movie when my parents came over and decided to help us. It sounded really hard but turned out being extremely easy. We covered all the furniture in the room, sprayed the ceiling with water to get it wet enough to scrape off. Then we scraped it off. It was so easy. We got all the rooms done except for the kitchen. Which we don't have to get done for a while... which is good. We will be getting the ceiling textured from my brother in law Nathan. Then we will paint and have the carpet replaced!! Maybe my house wont seem so bachelorish any more. I really need to get some pictures up too. But that will be after I paint.... which will hopefully be before the carpets come in. I am so excited for the carpets to come in. New carpet is my favorite thing.
